What is Private Meditation?
Private Meditation is a beautiful and deeply transformational opportunity for growth and expansion into self-awareness. With one-on-one meditation instruction, you will be able to relax deeply and let go of the outside world in a safe and guided space. This allows you to break through all of the barriers that may have been keeping you from connecting to your higher self through a regular, at-home meditation practice.
Beginning a new habit can be a challenging task for anyone. When you ask your mind and body to sit and stay awhile, that can be an even tougher hurdle for a new meditator. Private meditation instruction at Zen Body Waves, in Montgomery, Alabama, is tailored to fit your needs and your life so that you can settle down in our sound sanctuary, quiet your mind, embrace the stillness, and really dive into yourself for an hour.
Our goal at Zen Body Waves is to facilitate your journey in an easy and effortless way, bringing a harmonious balance to your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual state of being.

When you come in for a session with Zen Body Waves, you can ALWAYS expect a quick consultation where we can check in with you, find out what is going on in your body, and tailor a treatment to help.
Once a course of treatment has been discussed, you will lay on the massage table, fully clothed, and you will be guided by meditation into a very relaxed state.
-Wear comfortable clothing
-No cell phones or i-watches, please.
-If you would like, bring a list of affirmations or intentions for yourself. We can read them out for you to repeat in your relaxed state, a heightened state of awareness.
After your session, you will likely feel, very relaxed, full-body awareness, lighter on your feet, more conscious, energetic, and refreshed.

In this meditation training, you will learn an easy and effortless meditation practice that you can take home with you. After your initial consultation and Q&A session, you will receive a word (mantra) to repeat over and over again which helps you to maintain focus and reach elevated states of consciousness. We will then practice this technique together several times during the 1-hour session so that you are confident when you take the practice home into your daily life.

This is an in-person, guided meditation led by Patti Block, where you are encouraged to focus on a scene or image for calming, relaxing effects. This type of meditation will be beneficial for those who struggle to clear their mind to cultivate stillness or those who tend to become drowsy and doze off during other types of sitting meditation practices. The purpose of visualization meditation is to stimulate a relaxation response in the body while keeping your mind free from stress and out of cyclical thinking.

In a sound bath meditation, you are relaxed with a calming guided meditation and rejuvenated by a harmonious mixture of singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, drums, chimes, and more. When you enter the sound sanctuary of Zen Body Waves, you will be mesmerized by the compilation of sounds and you will feel you’ve been transported to different worlds with surprise and delight.

This technique is also known as “yogic sleep” because you will be lying down in the Savasana pose for the duration of this guided meditation. Through visualizations, affirmations, sound, and more, you are guided into deep relaxation and deep inner peace. When you come back to presence and awareness, you will feel like you have been on a 10-day vacation in just 1 hour.

Meditation is best when it is practiced often. Our goal at Zen Body Waves is to TEACH YOU how to meditate so that you can practice confidently at home.
You can learn to meditate in just one session with us but you are encouraged to schedule a private session whenever you feel the need to dive a little deeper into your meditation practice.

Meet Your Teacher:
Patti Block at Zen Body Waves knows the challenges and pitfalls of meditation very well, as she has over 10 years of learning and teaching experience in many different styles of meditation. Her meditation journey began in 2011 with the preparation for the birth of her son. She learned the beautiful practice of Hypnobirthing in order to have a calm and safe birthing experience at home with a midwife and her husband. She was transformed by the delivery experience and soon began to investigate the many forms of meditation. Transcendental Meditation quickly became her daily practice and in addition to that practice, she learned Mindfulness with Jon Kabat-Zinn, and Access Consciousness with Dr. Dain Heer. She has also accumulated many years of self-study with the practices of Neti-Neti, Visualization meditation, Focused meditation, and Sound Healing meditation. Along with her husband, Patti has been leading private group guided meditation Sound Baths for over 3 years with her Sound Therapy and Registered Yoga Teacher 200 certification. With all of her training combined, Patti has acquired many valuable, teachable, and life-changing meditation techniques to share with you. She knows that you will grasp a deeper understanding of these meditations, and will feel confident to practice them anywhere when you learn and experience them on a very intimate, personal level.
